Brothers and Sisters:

Despite Stop & Shop’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize, seeing $74 billion in net sales last year and authorizing over $1 billion in stock buy backs for its shareholders, we have never seen proposals as severe and damaging to workers as the ones we’re seeing at the negotiation table this year.

Stop & Shop’s proposals this year are a slap in the face to our hardworking members. Stop & Shop management has made it clear that they do not respect the value your hard work brings this company. Attacks on your wages, benefits, and retirement security are unacceptable.

This is nothing more than sheer corporate greed. Stop & Shop is the #1 supermarket operator in the northeast and yet, is only looking to take away benefits from its workers.

Please tell your family, friends, neighbors and management that we are not going back, we are going forward.

In solidarity,

Your UFCW Stop & Shop Negotiation Coalition
