Local 371 Members Stand in Solidarity With

Severance Foods Workers

On Wednesday, January 31st at 3:30PM, at 3478 Main Street in Hartford, join us as we stand in solidarity with the workers of Severance Foods.  Our future brothers and sisters will be voting Thursday in a secret ballot election to join our union.  They are standing up and Voting UNION YES so they can earn a better wage, and a better life for themselves and their families.

For over a decade, Local 371 union steward Justine Boughton, (pictured here with her union representative Rich Johnson and her husband), has donated at least a carload of toys annually to the Local 371 Women’s Network. Justine Boughton makes the holidays happen for her coworkers in need and her community. It’s not too late for you to contribute to our toy drive! Contact your union representative to arrange for a pick up. #WeMakeTheHolidaysHappen.

The Local 371 Shop Stewards Conference was held on Wednesday November 1st at Foxwoods Casino. There, over two hundred stewards and invited guests heard from many guest speakers. They learned about the dangers of work-for-less laws, how to better communicate with their co-workers, and how to navigate the workers compensation laws. They also learned how to be a stronger steward and how to get more members involved in their union. It was a great day that left the stewards energized and ready to face the many challenges that undoubtedly lie ahead in 2018.
